Gala Cricket Club was established in 1853 by mill workers in the town and made the move to our current home, Meigle Park, in the late 1800s. The club has seen many changes over its 168 year tenure from its clubhouse to its playing division.
Currently, our club has three senior sides. Our 1st XI compete in the East of Scotland Cricket Association (ESCA) Championship. In 2020, the club announced its plans to field a 2nd Saturday XI for the first time in over 30 years for the upcoming season. Despite a season hit by the COVID pandemic, the club will continue to achieve this aim. The club also has a Sunday Development XI which compete in the ESCA Sunday League.
The club has a vibrant junior section, with sessions running for ages under 16, under 14, under 12 and the All Stars Cricket programme for 5 to 8 year olds.
The club always welcomes new faces! Whether an experienced cricketer, an enthusiastic new start or a keen supporter, you will always be welcomed at Meigle Park!
