Gala Under 14s made the last 16 of the Scottish Cup with a fine win at Penicuik.

The young side scored 133 from their 20 overs, with the hosts finishing on 92 to give Gala a win at Kirkhill to ensure a round two trip to Watsonians.

Gala lost Sam Lindores and Jamie early doors but Fraser Wilson (25) and Robbie Paterson (33 not out) put together an excellent partnership.

John Ingram then added 27 as Gala ended on 133 for six.

Penicuik were always struggling to keep up with the Gala total with Maisie Maciera and Paterson in particular keeping the home team in check while taking wickets.

Wylie scored 30 not out but the home team finished 41 runs short of Gala’s total.
