Meigle Park update – 11 May 2026

Meigle Park update

Saturday proved a washout as both our 1sts and 2nds games were cancelled without a ball being bowled.

However, Gala did fit in a game on Friday evening as they defeated Kelso in their first t20 game of the season at Shedden Park.

The highlight of the match was Benji Potgieter scoring his first hundred for the club, as the 19-year-old’s unbeaten century guided Gala to 204 for 2 with Sean Taylor (32 not out) and Robbie Paterson (27) also contributing.

Kelso finished up 82 for 8 with wickets shared around the bowlers.

This Saturday sees Gala host Edinburgh Accies at Meigle Park, with a 12noon start. Colin Playfair is match ball sponsor. The 2nds will be at Leith FAB, with a 1pm start.

The club is still looking for any new players who may wish to join the club this season – please contact us via social media or galacricketclub@gmail.com if interested. Training takes place every Monday and Thursday from 6pm at Meigle Park.
