Meigle Park Update – 15 June 2026

Gala 1sts claimed a seven wicket win over Heriots 2nds on Saturday at Meigle Park, with Sean Taylor named Starrett Player of the Match for his excellent unbeaten knock of 87.

The 2nds suffered a heavy defeat at St Boswells, losing by eight wickets.

However, we did claim a t20 victory on Friday evening over St Boswells, with Robbie Paterson and Darius Maritz both scoring half centuries, and Rowan Chalmers taking two wickets in the first ever over he has bowled. Ben Potgieter took three wickets and Ajith Sujan two wickets.

This weekend sees the 1sts make the long trip to Kirkcaldy to face Dunnikier, while the 2nds are at home to Stewart’s Melville 3rds with a 1pm start on Saturday.

Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays at 6pm – we are currently looking out for more players to help us put out two teams each week for the remainder of the season. Please contact us via social media or galacricketclub@gmail.com if interested or would like more information.

Juniors
We hosted the Rowan Boland Softball Festival on Friday evening, with five teams taking part including two from Gala.

We played an under 16s game last Wednesday at Kelso, losing out to the hosts but Leo Paterson took three wickets.

This Wednesday, the under 12s are due to play their first incrediball game at St Boswells, with a 6pm start. The under 15s are due to also play St Boswells at home on Wednesday 24 June, before our final softball festival of the month at Hawick on Friday 26 June.

We are also hosting two junior summer camps – the dates have slightly changed, with the first on for two days and to take place Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 July, and a second camp to take place Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 July. Both camps will run 10am to 2pm and are open to children aged 8 to 15 years of age. All members and non-members are welcome. Contact galacricketclub@gmail.com to sign up.
Junior training takes place every Tuesday from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.
