Gala suffered a six wicket defeat at league leaders Drummond Trinity on Saturday. Gala post 178 all out with Darius Maritz top scoring with 44 and Jamie Crooks hitting 38.
In reply, Gala had the Edinburgh team in some trouble at 56 for 3 but in the end Trinity ran out with a well deserved win. Iqbal Qasim took two wickets as did Robbie Paterson.
The 2nds game was called off due to wet weather.
This Saturday sees the 1sts host Heriots 2nds at 12noon, with The Trophy Guy the ball sponsor. The 2nds are due to play at St Boswells, with a 1pm start. Both teams are invited to a barbecue at the club after our games. We also have a t20 game at St Boswells on Friday evening, with a 6pm start.
Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays at 6pm – we are currently looking out for more players to help us put out two teams each week for the remainder of the season. Please contact us via social media or galacricketclub@gmail.com if interested or would like more information.
